FOUNDATION BLOODLINES
We all have good reason to be excited about Royalty. He is a unique individual with a great deal to offer to breeders. He is an intensely beautiful, balanced and athletic stallion with a pedigree full of AQHA and PHBA Champions who have excelled in a wide range of performance events. In addition, his pedigree also contains Superior and World Champion halter horses. Royalty comes from a lineage of horses that were good-minded and versatile performance horses while also being beautiful and correct enough to excel in halter. We invite you to look up the records of some of these individuals including:
- Heza Royal Step
- Big Step
- Parkers Trouble
- Skip Agent(pictured here) ›
- Splash Bar
- Blondys Dude

CHARLIE HUTTON'S VISION
Royalty was bred, shown to his Superior in halter and started in performance training by Charlie Hutton, a well-known performance and reining horseman who now stands Nu Chex To Cash at his ranch in Tennessee. Charlie described Royalty as having "a huge stop", "being a beautiful lead changer", and "having the best head and neck in the industry". Charlie was unable to do justice to two top stallions, and Royalty was sold. Unfortunately, the new owners did not continue with Royalty's performance training…but make no mistake about his breeding and potential for success in top performance competition. Indeed, we are continuing with Charlie Hutton's vision to use Royalty to produce horses that can be led in the morning and shown in performance events in the afternoon!
PETE BOWLING's OF OASIS RANCH CONFIDENCE IN HD ROYALTY
Prior owner of HD Royalty Pete Bowling (of Oasis Ranch) believes HD Royalty is one of the important stallions in the quarter horse halter industry today. In fact, Ted Turner and Jerry Wells offered to lead HD Royalty in the Aged Stallion Halter Class at the AQHA World Show when Pete owned the horse. With backing like this from the leading halter horse trainers, you could say we are eager to be a part of HD Royalty's legacy!
COLORED FOALS
Royalty passes his exquisite head and the amazing length in his neck on to his foals. If you have a mare that needs some help in either of these areas, this is a horse to seriously consider. He has a short head, huge eye, tiny sculpted ears, and an expansive wide forehead tapering to a tiny muzzle. He is 15.2 hands (with a measuring stick on concrete), and is that rare and highly desirable liver chestnut color. The Palomino breeders are telling us how he will sire dark golden palominos on palomino mares, and the two daughters we have are certainly proof of their prediction.
FQHR REG./NO IMPRESSIVE BLOOD
Since Royalty carries NO IMPRESSIVE BLOOD he is a perfect outcross for Impressive-bred mares. He is registered with the FQHR of America (96.88%), and he would be an excellent choice to contribute refinement and beauty while preserving a foundation pedigree and the good-mindness, athletic ability, and versatility for which that pedigree is valued.
ROYALTY IS A SUPERIOR HALTER HORSE
Royalty's status as an AQHA Superior Halter horse is a meaningful achievement. Importantly, Royalty is the type of horse that the AQHA has been describing over the last couple of years as their "ideal halter horse". He exemplifies a performance horse with beauty, correctness, and balance.
ROYALTY'S PALOMINO OFFSPRING
I ride one of Royalty's palomino daughters, and I have never stirred so much interest with any other horse. When an APHA judge offered a clinic on rail work, she singled out my mare and declared to all the participants that I "could win all day on the rail with that horse". When I took her to a reining clinic a few weeks ago, the professional reining trainer/clinician who had just returned from placing 7th out of over 200 entries at the Oklahoma City Futurities this year, again made a point of singling her out, asking about her breeding, and then announcing to the entire clinic that she had excellent conformation for doing reining and that she was the "best loper" in the house. Everywhere I go, people comment on her striking color. This mare's "look-alike" full sister won her weanling halter futurity under 3 judges at an APHA show as a weanling and won the Triathalon as a yearling and the HUS and WP futurities as a 2 yr old.
